“From Moses and all the prophets, Jesus interpreted to them the things about himself in all the Scriptures.” (Luke 24:27)

On the road to Emmaus, the Risen Jesus explained the Scriptures to his disciples (Luke 24:13-32).  Truly to know our Risen Lord, we need to learn the holy words that make him known.  As St. Jerome said, “Ignorance of Scriptures is ignorance of Christ.”

Emmaus Scripture School invites you to study Holy Scripture with the focus Jesus gives to it.  Through careful study and listening prayer, Emmaus is where the Christ-centered meaning of the Bible comes alive for you.  You will gain a solid foundation in Scriptural knowledge, and you will learn sound methods of reading and applying the sacred text.

The foundational content and the principles of interpretation will serve you well for the rest of your life, whether or not you pursue further training.  And every technique and principle taught at Emmaus will serve the larger goal of knowing Jesus and becoming more like God’s Son.

Inter-denominational setting
Christians of all backgrounds are welcome at Emmaus, where we respect each other’s traditions.  We do not teach theology or doctrine as such.  Instead, we seek to provide a solid foundation in Scriptural knowledge to enrich each one’s experience and contribution in our respective traditions.  We focus on our common heritage in Holy Scripture and recognize our primary unity in the One Savior, Jesus Christ. Guest lecturers from different backgrounds will demonstrate this unity in the midst of diversity.
