General Description:
Foundation in Christ Ministries (FICM) offers through An Tobar Nua, a “hands-on” ministry experience program in Galway, Republic of Ireland. The program will allow those seeking a mission or ministry related college degree the opportunity for evangelical outreach training in a foreign culture. An Tobar Nua is located in an area of Ireland with a very secular world view, and a high drug and alcohol abuse culture with the attendant problems of unwanted pregnancy, addictions, life controlling depression and life style challenges. The participant will also encounter multiple alternative spiritual belief systems.    

Specific Areas of Experience:

  • Cross Cultural Evangelism through Café ministry
  • Presenting Purity Programs in High Schools
  • Participating in full day school retreats
  • Preparing and facilitating group discussions with students
  • Conducting one on one tutoring of students in various school subject areas
  • Training in FICM’s Relationship Evangelism model with corresponding classroom instruction in Christian apologetics for the Resurrection. This is coupled with a devotional study, The Stepping Stones of Faith, a Biblical look at the meaning of spiritual maturity.  

Program Parameters:
The program will run on a college semester or quarter program consistent with the practice of your University, or 12-15 weeks, (or 480-600 hours of ministry engagement)  Foundation in Christ Ministries will work in concert with your school to obtain college credit for your Internship experience. This is an ideal program for those seeking a genuine ministry experience with an eye towards vocational ministry, or those seeking direction in deciding for their careers.

Program Provisions and Cost:
Students will be provided with living accommodation and 10 meals per week. The program fees are $3,600 for 12 week program. Students will also need to plan for airfare flying to/from Shannon, Ireland from the USA point of origin. FICM requires all students to have health insurance. Coverage should be obtained from the USA, or we can arrange coverage through our group program. Please ask for further details if this option is desired.  Additional costs for the 12 week session for the additional meals, laundry and other essential should be figured to range from $120.00-$150.00 per week.
