An Tobar Nua

An Tobar Nua café serves a variety of inexpensive lunches, coffees and snacks to the public and to a large lunchtime crowd of secondary school students. Contemporary Christian music and videos create a positive atmosphere for young people to hang-out and develop friendships with our staff. These friendships pave the way for the sharing of the Good News in a non-threatening environment. Occasionally, lunchtime speakers bring relevant topics to the students, encouraging them toward an ongoing, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. The café serves as a safe haven where people can chat over a cup of coffee or tea. Often people come in with special needs or earnest issues and our friendly staff offers a listening ear.

Praise Nights

Periodically we gather together to make a joyful noise to the Lord. These nights are a source of encouragement to us as believers from different denominational backgrounds come together to worship God with one heart. “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples” (John 13:34-36).

Prayer & Counseling

The daily need for sincere prayer and Christian counselling is essential to all we do. It is often the critical step that opens the door to people’s hearts for the healing love of Christ. Prayer teams join with any who request prayer in meeting their needs. A trained counsellor is available for those with on-going needs.

School Lectures

The staff of An Tobar Nua is always available to speak in local schools. Our Youth Alive programme includes the following: Passion Retreats: Full and half day retreats including personal testimonies of lives changed, sharing of the Good News, True Love Can Wait (a message on purity), small groups, quiet prayer and music. Café Plugged In: Twelve session DVD presentation of different aspects of our Christian faith followed by lively discussion. Resurrection Fact or Fiction: Power point presentation on the historicity of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Intelligent design presentation: Does the evidence point to a God who created everything or to “stuff” just happening by random chance?

Marriage Workshops

Marriage and pre-marriage counselling is available on a personal level. Periodically we offer an intensive marriage weekend seminar.

Bothar Emmaus Bookstore

We have a wonderful selection of Christian books for the local community and one of the largest selections of Christian music in Ireland.

Seminars

On selected weekends we present teachings on the following themes: God’s love, salvation, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and living for Jesus. These seminars have been life transforming for many who have attended them around the world.
