Sharing the Hope of Christ With the Next Generation

Relationships are at the heart of our mission, and Retreats and In- School programming are one way in which we are able to have meaningful conversations with students where they are.

RETREATS

An Tobar Nua has been working with Irish secondary schools (equivalent to US grades 7-12) through day retreats hosted at An Tobar Nua and in secondary schools around the country.

Retreats focus on developing the student's overall well-being and encouraging faith in an interactive and lively manner. We aim to inspire young people to discover meaning, value and purpose in their lives through sharing the Hope of Christ.

Our retreats line up with statewide school initiatives and focus on faith, social media, ethics, friendships, and other relevant topics. In addition to sharing the Hope of Christ, we aim to provide thoughtful and practical wisdom on how to live a flourishing life.

Testimonials

I would like to thank all of you for today. I have always believed in God but this has helped me get rid of any doubt. I really enjoyed the reflection session and of course the games. I felt as though they brought us closer as a class. I want to live my life with God in it.

Thank you! You opened my eyes even more. I have even more faith and hope in God. I had many experiences with God’s existence and today was one of them. Through all your stories I felt God. God is here with us. You taught me more than I already knew.

In-School Programming

For Primary Schools

Prayer Experiences: An Tobar Nua provides an engaging, age-appropriate program on prayer to local primary schools in Galway City. These sessions also include an immersive prayer experience led by an An Tobar Nua team member and Q & A time for students to get their questions about prayer and faith answered.

For Secondary Schools

Religious Education Class Facilitation: An Tobar Nua provides in-school sessions for facilitating RE classes. We utilize resources like SAOL Media and Youth Alpha videos, in order to create a safe space for small group discussion of faith-based matters.

Mental Health Talks: We deliver engaging, age-appropriate mental health talks for teenagers, designed to equip young people with tools to support their emotional wellbeing. Learn more about mental health talks.
